How do i train to run a mile in 8 minutes?

I’m a 14 year old girl and I have been dancing my whole life so I am horrible at running! Since I am going into high school, I have decided to try out for volleyball. Tryouts are in August, and to make the team you need to run the mile in 8 minutes! How should I train for this?

Run 2 miles every other day. Don’t run till you hurl, though.

Remember to stretch BEFORE and AFTER you run. Do not eat anything 2-3 hours before you run, but you may have some snacks like nuts, fruit, or a granola bar. After you run make sure you eat something that will help you recover. Try Myoplex protein drinks, chocolate milk, eat a banana, or any citruis fruit/ drink.

First you would want to do some stretching and then just practice running you can start by only doing ten minutes and then go to 9 and after go to 8 .

you need to build up endurance.
set different goals for yourself.you
aren’t going to automatically start
running 8min miles.start running the pace
you can,each day you should practice
until you gradually become faster.
